In Season & Fresh from the Garden, the Fields, the Orchards & the Woods

Laughing Duck Gardens & Cookery

Recipe Index

The recipes come from our blog Rappahannock Cook & Kitchen Gardener. There we also chronicle happenings in the kitchen garden - tracking its progresses (or set-backs) throughout the seasons, growing & cooking tips, seasonal recipes, occasional visits to other kitchen gardens, food discoveries in the Virginia Northern Piedmont area & locavore musings… and other topics related to “real” food. The recipes use local ingredients, but not exclusively and I freely use local food that has been home-preserved, such as frozen fruit, jam, canned tomatoes etc- food that’s home-grown but used outside of its original season.

Click on the recipe name to be taken to the recipe page. You may then need to scroll down the page, past the introduction, to see the recipe.  If you use a recipe, do post a comment on how it turned out for you! Feedback’s always appreciated.
