In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved, and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Les coquelicots ondulent dans les champs de Flandres
Rangs sur rangs, entres les croix,
Qui marquent notre place; et dans le ciel
Les alouettes, chantant obstinément, passent à tire d’aile;
On les entend à peine parmi les canons tonnants.

Nous sommes les morts. Vivants, hier encore,
Debouts à l’aube, admirants le soleil couchant;
Nous aimions et étions aimes, et maintenant,

Nous gisons

Dans les champs de Flandres.
