Quince Time Again!

quince-005

I love love quince and was able to get one bushel this year from one of the local orchards (not counting Japanese quince which several friends let me have from their bushes)!  So… once more in the middle of putting food by: roasting & can (or serve with lamb or pork), jamming & canning,  tarting & sauceing (and canning), making ice-cream…you cannot go wrong with quince but you have too cook it.

  • What a beautiful fruit. I have been trying to find a quince tree, locally, for some time now. I hate to order plants through far off nurseries as I have not had much luck with them. Perhaps I will have to bite the bullet and do so. I’m not sure what they taste like but have no doubt that I would like them.:)

  • Mike – I am sure you would like them too…

Deirdre – every year I miss their festival because of a fundraiser that I help organize for our local Volunteer Fire & Rescue squad. The festival and associated program always seems so interesting…
